In a very dangerous position, a player in Avesta fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 6th minute. Penalty! Egil Trillkott stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex Andreasson's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Per-Åke Andberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Egil Trillkott having to interfere. Per-Åke Andberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Per-Åke Andberg blasted a shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Egil Trillkott having to make a save. Karl-Axel Sjöberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alex Andreasson was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Avesta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mark Mellberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Sibräcka GOIF's players had a chance to rest. Per-Åke Andberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Egil Trillkott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Avesta booed when Sibräcka GOIF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Helge Holmberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egil Trillkott was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Alex Andreasson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alex Andreasson really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. After some careless play in the Sibräcka GOIF defense, Karl-Axel Sjöberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reine Karlberg. The Sibräcka GOIF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reine Karlberg should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Sibräcka GOIF:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Avesta:s goal.
