Spectators: 6681 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Holger Hedbom started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Åryd's goalkeeper Karl-Ove Klack, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Isaac Berglund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Carl Sjöberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Sjöberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Isaac Berglund in the 14th minute. In the 16th minute of the match Åryd got a corner. IFK Göteborg's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kjell-Arne Ivarsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Åryd's Karl-Ove Klack played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nils Clementsson in the 18th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in IFK Göteborg's zone, Holger Hedbom stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carl Sjöberg came out of the goal and Holger Hedbom tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcus Åkerström kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Tomas Carlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nils Clementsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Isaac Berglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Sjöberg having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Nils Clementsson made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, IFK Göteborg's Tomas Carlsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Carl Sjöberg came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Åryd's Isaac Berglund. But to his dismay, Isaac Berglund quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 67th minute, Isaac Berglund ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carl Sjöberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Isaac Berglund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Carl Sjöberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl Sjöberg came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Åryd's Holger Hedbom. But to his dismay, Holger Hedbom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Karl-Ove Klack came out of the goal and Nils Clementsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 80 played minutes Åryd got a freekick which was hit by Örjan Adelsköld. When Eric Lundgren fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored IFK Göteborg's protests and gave Eric Lundgren a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, IFK Göteborg's Eric Lundgren got a free kick in the 84th minute. In the 92nd minute, Holger Hedbom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to IFK Göteborg getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Folke Hedberg hit a great ball. Kjell-Arne Ivarsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carl Sjöberg. IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Åryd's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
