Matthias Sjö could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Nicklas Jonasson made a huge save. A collision led to Malungsfors getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Wiktor Nyberg hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Malungsfors's goal looked a bit too open when Sakarias Nordström came free, but Nicklas Jonasson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sonny Moberg struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Tomas Pettersson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malungsfors. If Sonny Moberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pål Danielsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 21 played minutes, Malungsfors's Wiktor Nyberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tomas Pettersson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Malungsfors reached it. Michael Fridlund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Michael Fridlund got free with Nicklas Jonasson in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pål Danielsson in the 36th minute of play. Tomas Pettersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pål Danielsson in the 44th minute of the match. After having played for 47 minutes, Matthias Sjö managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bygdsiljum BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthias Sjö was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Tomas Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pål Danielsson in the 53rd minute. Michael Fridlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Nicklas Jonasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicklas Jonasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michael Fridlund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Sakarias Nordström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bygdsiljum BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Sakarias Nordström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicklas Jonasson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nicklas Jonasson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthias Sjö, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Matthias Sjö recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 80th minute Michael Fridlund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicklas Jonasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicklas Jonasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Fridlund in the 82nd minute of play. In the 87th minute Oscar Lund suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Börge Odén was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 89th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Malungsfors's Pål Danielsson got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
