Andréas Askelöf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Håkan Bredberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Torshälla IS's Håkan Bredberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Torshälla IS from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andréas Askelöf in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Håkan Bredberg saved Torshälla IS from getting behind. In the 13th minute, Andréas Askelöf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andréas Askelöf during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Torshälla IS getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Dan Hökqvist hit a great ball. The supporters of helsingborg booed when Torshälla IS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manfred Mager didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torbjörn Vennerström in the 26th minute of play forced helsingborg's goalkeeper Freddie Lindberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anthon Falk's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 38thth minute, Håkan Bredberg skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 40th minute, Andréas Askelöf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anthon Falk's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Håkan Bredberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Per Norberg charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per Norberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ted Britz took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Freddie Lindberg. Freddie Lindberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After the first half Torshälla IS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Rune Beneth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rune Beneth in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. After 70 played minutes Torshälla IS got a freekick which was hit by Manfred Mager. 73 minutes into the match, Torshälla IS's goal looked a bit too open when Andréas Askelöf came free, but Håkan Bredberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andréas Askelöf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Håkan Bredberg having to make a save. In the 88th minute, Andréas Askelöf ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Håkan Bredberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. After 91 minutes of play helsingborg's Per Norberg was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Torshälla IS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
