An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Sandberg in the 8th minute of play forced Linköping's goalkeeper Sivert Eriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egil Boberg hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Linköping's Sivert Eriksson got control of the ball when André Örtendahl tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vilhelm Eklund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens Zachrisson having to interfere. After 20 minutes, Agne Göransson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Linköping and the Its funny cause its true! players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Its funny cause its true! booed when Linköping was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agne Göransson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 24th minute, André Örtendahl ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sivert Eriksson was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After a rather tough play, Linköping's Vilhelm Eklund got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 28th minute, Mattias Wallengren sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Linköping's Sivert Eriksson didn't even have to move. In the 32nd minute of the match Arvin Sandström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sivert Eriksson skillfully saved the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Linköping's zone, Roland Sandberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sivert Eriksson came out of the goal and Roland Sandberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Linköping's Per-Oskar Apelqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Sonny Brandin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Roland Sandberg made a kick off. Jens Zachrisson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sonny Brandin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Per-Oskar Apelqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linköping's supporters rose to their feet, but Per-Oskar Apelqvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jens Zachrisson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. André Örtendahl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Sivert Eriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Linköping's goal looked a bit too open when André Örtendahl came free, but Sivert Eriksson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 60 played minutes Its funny cause its true! got a freekick which was hit by Vilhelm Örn. 65 minutes into the match, Agne Göransson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jens Zachrisson. Its funny cause its true!'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agne Göransson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. With his leg Jens Zachrisson managed to avoid a goal in the 71stth minute, when Linköping's Per-Oskar Apelqvist fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Roland Sandberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sivert Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Sandberg in the 81st minute of play. Roland Sandberg struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Sivert Eriksson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Its funny cause its true!. A collision led to Linköping getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Egil Boberg hit a great ball. When Roland Sandberg came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Its funny cause its true! fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roland Sandberg couldn't finish the play. After 97 minutes of play, Its funny cause its true!'s André Örtendahl made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sivert Eriksson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Its funny cause its true! had won after a very even match.
