Sven Vidman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Malte Björling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Gävle fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Malte Björling should have stopped the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Stig-Ove Bergqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Malte Björling. Gävle's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stig-Ove Bergqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Per-Oskar Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malte Björling having to interfere. Sven Vidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kim Alegren hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Sven Vidman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Malte Björling made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Malte Björling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Oskar Nilsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 57th match minute, Gävle was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pelle Månsson to maneuver through the defense. When Dan Söderqvist fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gävle's protests and gave Dan Söderqvist a yellow card for diving instead. Dan Söderqvist hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Malte Björling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Oskar Nilsson in the 64th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Alingsås FK's zone, Dan Söderqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulf Fransson came out of the goal and Dan Söderqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sven Vidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Gävle's zone, Sven Vidman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Malte Björling came out of the goal and Sven Vidman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Per-Oskar Nilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Folke Albohm kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. If Dan Söderqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gävle's Malte Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Oskar Nilsson in the 95th minute of play. Ulf Fransson made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Tomas Ekeroth sent off a good shot on target. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Alingsås FK fully deserved thier win.
