After 5 played minutes Borås GIF got a freekick which was hit by Rune Öberg. Strömsund FK's Ulf Linquist shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 6th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jens-Ove Söderqvist but with some difficulty. 7 minutes into the game, Strömsund FK's William Stenström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens-Ove Söderqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Borås GIF's Jens-Ove Söderqvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronny Björk in the 11th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils Dahlbom in the 14th minute of play forced Borås GIF's goalkeeper Jens-Ove Söderqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Borås GIF getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jerry Drake hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Ulf Linquist managed to get in a good position for a shot. Strömsund FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Ulf Linquist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jens-Ove Söderqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Larsson got free with Jens-Ove Söderqvist in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peder Rudkvist in the 26th minute of play forced Strömsund FK's goalkeeper Claes Eliasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Hagberg in the 28th minute of play forced Borås GIF's goalkeeper Jens-Ove Söderqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Borås GIF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christer Ambjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. Jens-Ove Söderqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by William Stenström in the 34th minute. The supporters of Strömsund FK booed when Borås GIF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Vibjörnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stig-Åke Linquist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronny Björk took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jens-Ove Söderqvist. Jens-Ove Söderqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. If William Stenström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ronny Björk succeeded in the game's 59th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-0. Jens-Ove Söderqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William Stenström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jens-Ove Söderqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronny Björk, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Peder Rudkvist struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Claes Eliasson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borås GIF. William Stenström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Jens-Ove Söderqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute, Ronny Björk left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strömsund FK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Ronny Björk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. William Stenström took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jens-Ove Söderqvist. Jens-Ove Söderqvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. Strömsund FK's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
