Gudhem's Sverker Lindgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Åkesson in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Gudhem's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Sigfridsson came free, but Sverker Lindgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, FC Narnia's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Sundberg came free, but Olov Ahlkvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Billy Dahlberg in the 8thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Olov Ahlkvist, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Gudhem's Folke Fribäck got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Folke Fribäck's late challenge caught a FC Narnia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Folke Fribäck helped the player get up and apologised. Folke Fribäck hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Ingvar Åkesson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sverker Lindgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute, Gudhem's Samuel Sundberg seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Samuel Sundberg the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Gudhem protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Samuel Sundberg had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 40th minute, one of Gudhem:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gudhem. Bo Sigfridsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sverker Lindgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ingvar Åkesson to make the kick off. Ingvar Åkesson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sverker Lindgren having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Bo Sigfridsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sverker Lindgren. The goal made the score 1-2. In the 59th minute, Folke Fribäck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Olov Ahlkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folke Fribäck in the 60th minute of play. Olov Ahlkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Dahlberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute, FC Narnia's Bo Sigfridsson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. FC Narnia's Albert Karlsson got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute of the match, Albert Karlsson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sverker Lindgren was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Albert Karlsson got free with Sverker Lindgren in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sverker Lindgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Villiam Malmström, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute, Albert Karlsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sverker Lindgren was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Åkesson in the 91st minute of play forced Gudhem's goalkeeper Sverker Lindgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Folke Fribäck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Narnia's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
