In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lyckeby's goalkeeper Mats Lang, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lyckeby's defense didn't have a chance, in the 4th minute, when Henrik Kling scored to the left of an out of position Mats Lang, making the score, 1-0. After some careless play in the Linköping defense, Bernt Hääger kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernt Asklöv. The Linköping fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernt Asklöv should have stopped the shot. Bernt Hääger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Karl Bohlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Bohlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Bernt Asklöv tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Linköping's Bernt Asklöv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Hääger in the 24th minute of play. Karl Bohlin scored 1-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernt Asklöv, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 30th minute Bernt Hääger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernt Asklöv saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bernt Asklöv took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernt Hääger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35thth minute of the game Bernt Hääger who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Linköping's Bernt Asklöv was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bernt Hääger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Asklöv having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernt Hääger in the 45th minute of play forced Linköping's goalkeeper Bernt Asklöv to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Linköping's zone, Karl Bohlin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernt Asklöv came out of the goal and Karl Bohlin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bengt Östlund to make the kick off. Linköping's Bernt Asklöv played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Hääger in the 51st minute of play. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Linköping's goalkeeper Bernt Asklöv, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 54 minutes into the match, Lyckeby's Karl Bohlin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernt Asklöv narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernt Asklöv made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl Bohlin in the 80th minute. Lyckeby's Karl Bohlin got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Karl Bohlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute, Lyckeby's Bernt Hääger dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. When the final whistle sounded Lyckeby left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Linköping.
