The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Börje Johnsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmie Hellqvist having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Österskär RK's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Svensson came free, but Henry Göransson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Nässjö IF booed when Österskär RK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sigvard Hök didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 16 minutes, Stig-Ove Lundqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Österskär RK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stig-Ove Lundqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Börje Johnsson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Nässjö IF's Jimmie Hellqvist. Jimmie Hellqvist was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Henry Göransson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sten Hellström in the 28th minute. Österskär RK's Henry Göransson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Svensson in the 29th minute of play. In the 46thth minute of the game Börje Johnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nässjö IF's Jimmie Hellqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anton Ahlqvist hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Peter Smedfeldt was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The Nässjö IF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Österskär RK were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Svensson to strike the kick off in the second half. Börje Johnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Österskär RK's attentive Peter Smedfeldt managed to snatch the ball when Anton Ahlqvist made a throw-in in the 68th minute of the game. In the 70thth minute of the game Börje Johnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nässjö IF's Jimmie Hellqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Österskär RK's Sigvard Hök got a free kick in the 71st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sten Hellström in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henry Göransson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Österskär RK's Stig-Ove Lundqvist got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 85th minute, Anton Ahlqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Stig-Ove Lundqvist came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Österskär RK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stig-Ove Lundqvist couldn't finish the play.
