The coaching staff of Nässjö IF protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Allan Mårtensson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Nässjö IF:s Jimmie Hellqvist showed great skill when he stopped Marko Johansson:s penalty. Algot Västberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jimmie Hellqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Nässjö IF's goalkeeper Jimmie Hellqvist had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Algot Västberg. Sten Hellström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frans Myr read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Jimmie Hellqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Brandin, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Jimmie Hellqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Algot Västberg's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Nässjö IF's goal looked a bit too open when Algot Västberg came free, but Jimmie Hellqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Algot Västberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 97th minute of the match Marko Johansson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jimmie Hellqvist showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
