Spectators: 7392 (Terracing: 5546, Seating: 1699, VIP seats: 147) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kennet Fridlund started the match with the kick off. After having played for 4 minutes, Bror Wennerlund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bergby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bror Wennerlund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kennet Fridlund hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 7thth minute of the game Evert Tinglöv who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Olympique Västberga's Kjell-Arne Pihlblad was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Knut Kock made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kennet Fridlund in the 8th minute of play. Kjell-Arne Pihlblad didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Evert Tinglöv went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Olympique Västberga's Georg Grönberg got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 15th minute Evert Tinglöv shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kjell-Arne Pihlblad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Ove Lundin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell-Arne Pihlblad having to interfere. 19 minutes into the match, Olympique Västberga's goal looked a bit too open when Evert Tinglöv came free, but Kjell-Arne Pihlblad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bergby's Knut Kock proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Bergby from getting a goal against them. If Mikael Ryberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 minutes of play, Olympique Västberga's Birger Martinsson made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Knut Kock was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th minute of the match, Thomas Nyman got a very nice opportunity to score, but Knut Kock was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Knut Kock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kennet Fridlund in the 31st minute of the match. Kennet Fridlund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evert Tinglöv in the 38th minute of play forced Olympique Västberga's goalkeeper Kjell-Arne Pihlblad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell-Arne Pihlblad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evert Tinglöv in the 43rd minute of the match. Bror Wennerlund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell-Arne Pihlblad having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Georg Grönberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Bergby's Knut Kock played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Birger Martinsson in the 54th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kennet Fridlund in the 58th minute of play forced Bergby's goalkeeper Knut Kock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee ignored Olympique Västberga's protests and gave Thomas Nyman a yellow card for diving instead. When Evert Tinglöv came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Bergby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evert Tinglöv couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Bergby booed when Olympique Västberga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Martinsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th match minute, Olympique Västberga was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hans Bern to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th match minute Vilhelm Bäcklin ran free in the middle of the field and shot a long shot which scored behind a totally surprised Kjell-Arne Pihlblad. 1-2. Mikael Ryberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Kjell-Arne Pihlblad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bergby's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
