A collision led to Älvsbyn getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Magnus Spets hit a great ball. Ulf Ferm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inge Blomqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inge Blomqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Harry Larsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ulf Ferm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harry Larsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Ulf Ferm showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Inge Blomqvist in the 34th minute of the match. After 37 played minutes Gimo RK got a freekick which was hit by Elliot Löv. Ulf Ferm made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Harry Larsson sent off a good shot on target.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elliot Löv to strike the kick off in the second half. Ulf Ferm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Larsson in the 52nd minute of play. Sten Karlstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf Ferm having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inge Blomqvist in the 60th minute of play forced Gimo RK's goalkeeper Ulf Ferm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the game, Mark Nyberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Ulf Ferm was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Harry Larsson came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Älvsbyn fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Larsson couldn't finish the play. But to his dismay, Inge Blomqvist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Älvsbyn had played much better football throughout.
