The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Harry Larsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Älvsbyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Harry Larsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magnus Nykvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Harry Larsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Magnus Nykvist made a huge save. Karl-Ove Stålman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Otto Beck in the 18th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Avantasia getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Bertil Granqvist hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the match, Harry Larsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Magnus Nykvist. FC Avantasia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harry Larsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. 25 minutes into the match, FC Avantasia's goal looked a bit too open when Inge Blomqvist came free, but Magnus Nykvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Älvsbyn booed when FC Avantasia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edwin Bergkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. 30 minutes into the match, FC Avantasia's goal looked a bit too open when Inge Blomqvist came free, but Magnus Nykvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes into the match, Bertil Granqvist notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Älvsbyn's Karl-Ove Stålman. Karl-Ove Stålman was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 37th minute, Harry Larsson made a precise shot to the right of Magnus Nykvist. FC Avantasia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. After 43 played minutes Älvsbyn got a freekick which was hit by Mark Nyberg. After recieving a nice pass, FC Avantasia's Bernt Kielstedt tried to score from far away in the 44th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Älvsbyn's Inge Blomqvist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Magnus Nykvist. That made the score 4-1 after 47 minutes of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kjell Uggstedt made a kick off. Inge Blomqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Magnus Nykvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Inge Blomqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. Magnus Nykvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Larsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inge Blomqvist took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Magnus Nykvist. Magnus Nykvist dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Harry Larsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Älvsbyn's supporters rose to their feet, but Harry Larsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magnus Nykvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Magnus Nykvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Larsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A collision led to FC Avantasia getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Johannes Forsman hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Harry Larsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Älvsbyn fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. In the 72nd minute Harry Larsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magnus Nykvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Älvsbyn's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Edwin Bergkvist scored to the left of an out of position Karl-Ove Stålman, making the score, 6-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Larsson in the 83rd minute of play forced FC Avantasia's goalkeeper Magnus Nykvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Inge Blomqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Magnus Nykvist. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Älvsbyn fully deserved thier win.
