After having played for 9 minutes, Börje Berg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Gigant's supporters crossed their fingers, but Börje Berg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Per-Erik Jansson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Andreas Överman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Knut Arvidsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by André Häll during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Gigant getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. André Häll hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Anton Eklund could shoot a difficult shot in the 24th minute, which Åke Ingvall however easily saved by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, FC Gigant's goal looked a bit too open when Per-Erik Jansson came free, but Andreas Överman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. chelsea's Åke Ingvall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börje Berg in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes into the match, chelsea's goalkeeper Åke Ingvall had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anton Eklund. Per-Erik Jansson took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andreas Överman. Andreas Överman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. FC Gigant's Philip Ferm suffered a concussion in the 44th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Knut Arvidsson made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Erik Bodin managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Gigant's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Bodin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Åke Ingvall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, chelsea's Eddie Nordgren got a free kick in the 59th minute. Anton Eklund might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Åke Ingvall. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anton Eklund ran back to his position shaking his head. Andreas Överman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Per-Erik Jansson in the 64th minute. In the 66th minute, Knut Arvidsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Andreas Överman was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Per-Erik Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Överman having to interfere. Knut Arvidsson succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-3. In the 81st match minute, FC Gigant was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eddie Löfskog to maneuver through the defense. If Per-Erik Jansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute Anton Eklund shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Ingvall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in chelsea's zone, Anton Eklund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Åke Ingvall came out of the goal and Anton Eklund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jörgen Jelm took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Andreas Överman. FC Gigant's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched chelsea eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
