The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christer Godholm scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mats Gustafsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Billy Kvarnström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mats Gustafsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ludvig Alströmer in the 11th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Björn Apelquist in the 15th minute of play forced fc z's goalkeeper Mats Gustafsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute, Billy Kvarnström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, fc z's Mats Gustafsson got control of the ball when Christer Godholm tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Bro's Björn Apelquist slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mats Gustafsson. That made the score 3-0 after 28 minutes of play. Ludvig Alströmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Gustafsson having to interfere. Mats Gustafsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Björn Apelquist, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Björn Apelquist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Björn Apelquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Mats Gustafsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute of the match Dennis Dahlberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mats Gustafsson skillfully saved the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gabriel Lindström was the one to do the kick off. Billy Kvarnström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute Billy Kvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Gustafsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mats Gustafsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Kvarnström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Bro booed when fc z was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gabriel Lindström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mats Gustafsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Kvarnström in the 60th minute of the match. Björn Apelquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Mats Gustafsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mats Gustafsson came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Bro's Björn Apelquist. But to his dismay, Björn Apelquist quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Björn Apelquist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Mats Gustafsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Björn Apelquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mats Gustafsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bro's Billy Kvarnström in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye fc z's goalie prevented a goal. In the 78th minute of the match Bro got a corner. fc z's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nils-Emil Jönsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Björn Apelquist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Gustafsson having to interfere. Björn Apelquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. fc z's Mats Gustafsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Kvarnström in the 89th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Bro's Victor Klemensson got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 95 minutes into the match, fc z's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmie Anundsson came free, but Mats Gustafsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bro walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
