IFK Ribba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Marko Almqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kurt Damm. Brap Stockholm's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marko Almqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. If Marko Almqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Folke Sjögren came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the IFK Ribba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folke Sjögren couldn't finish the play. The supporters of IFK Ribba booed when Brap Stockholm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Collin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marko Almqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Kurt Damm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marko Almqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gösta Lundin was the one to do the kick off. Marko Almqvist recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 53 played minutes Brap Stockholm got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Michael Jönsson. After having played for 62 minutes, Marko Almqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. IFK Ribba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marko Almqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marko Almqvist scored 1-2 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kurt Damm, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brap Stockholm's goalkeeper Kurt Damm, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 73 played minutes IFK Ribba got a freekick which was hit by Henry Nordmark. 88 minutes into the match, IFK Ribba's Marko Almqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kurt Damm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, IFK Ribba's Jan Ström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kurt Damm narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
