Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Axel Bremming took the kick off in the first half of the match. Axel Bremming sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Österbybruk's Viktor Jansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt-Arne Lindqvist in the 8th minute of play. Joakim Bållström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Måns Hedling having to interfere. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gimo IK's goalkeeper Måns Hedling, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jarl Gallin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viktor Jansson having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stefan Hultstrand during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarl Gallin in the 23rd minute of play forced Österbybruk's goalkeeper Viktor Jansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Gimo IK defense, Frans Lundgren kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Måns Hedling. The Gimo IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Måns Hedling should have stopped the shot. Österbybruk's Joakim Bållström was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 33rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After a rather tough play, Österbybruk's Rikard Boklund got a free kick in the 35th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 39 minutes into the game, when Michael Majman put in a rough tackle. Viktor Jansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Ahlfors in the 41st minute of play. After having played for 47 minutes, Rikard Boklund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Österbybruk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rikard Boklund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frans Lundgren made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Andreas Sjöström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gimo IK and the Österbybruk players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Frans Lundgren managed to get in a good position for a shot. Österbybruk's supporters rose to their feet, but Frans Lundgren was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Måns Hedling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jarl Gallin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Axel Bremming fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viktor Jansson having to interfere. Måns Hedling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frans Lundgren in the 68th minute of the match. After 70 minutes of play, Gimo IK's Axel Bremming made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viktor Jansson was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Axel Bremming had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jarl Gallin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frans Lundgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Måns Hedling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, Gimo IK's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Hultstrand came free, but Måns Hedling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rikard Boklund charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rikard Boklund the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 89th minute, Rikard Boklund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 92 played minutes Österbybruk got a freekick which was hit by Frans Lundgren. Frans Lundgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egil Bäckman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gimo IK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
