In the 3rdth minute of the game Conny Stensson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but IFK Sollentuna's Sten Carlsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. IFK Sollentuna's Sten Carlsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save IFK Sollentuna from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Conny Stensson put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Sten Carlsson. In the 9th minute Conny Stensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Carlsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. IFK Sollentuna's David Pil got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Bergkvara getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Sven-Edvin Widberg hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute Conny Stensson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sten Carlsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kjell-Arne Bergstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sten Carlsson having to interfere. The supporters of Bergkvara booed when IFK Sollentuna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Tolsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conny Stensson in the 31st minute of play forced IFK Sollentuna's goalkeeper Sten Carlsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjell-Arne Bergstedt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sten Carlsson firmly grabbed it by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Pil to make the kick off. Kent Hammarberg scored 2-0 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sten Carlsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 58 minutes into the match, IFK Sollentuna's goal looked a bit too open when Sven-Edvin Widberg came free, but Sten Carlsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sten Carlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conny Stensson in the 60th minute of the match. IFK Sollentuna's Sten Carlsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kjell-Arne Bergstedt in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute David Pil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conny Forsman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sten Carlsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kjell-Arne Bergstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. After 65 played minutes Bergkvara got a freekick which was hit by Kent Hammarberg. Sten Carlsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Conny Stensson in the 71st minute of the match. Sten Carlsson came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Bergkvara's Kent Hammarberg. But to his dismay, Kent Hammarberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Sten Carlsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conny Stensson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Verner Klemensson hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Conny Stensson took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sten Carlsson. Sten Carlsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 85th minute, Marc Fredriksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell-Arne Bergstedt in the 91st minute of play forced IFK Sollentuna's goalkeeper Sten Carlsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Conny Stensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
