Sven Rang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carl Kollberg read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Alfons Gadd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carl Kollberg having to interfere. In the 16th minute Richard Söderqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melker Helander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carl Kollberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Rang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfons Gadd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Carl Kollberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ragnar Dahlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olov Abrahamsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Melker Helander having to interfere. Melker Helander was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Richard Söderqvist capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Richard Söderqvist really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Carl Kollberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfons Gadd in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes Nittorp got a freekick which was hit by Michel Wallin. Carl Kollberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfons Gadd, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Nittorp's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 38th minute of the game, when Stig-Åke Österberg after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Hakenäset IFK's goal. Stig-Åke Österberg was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. In the 41st minute Richard Söderqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melker Helander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jens-Erik Olsmann fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hakenäset IFK's protests and gave Jens-Erik Olsmann a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Richard Söderqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nittorp's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Söderqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Melker Helander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Richard Söderqvist in the 45th minute of play. 45 minutes into the game, David Tunström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hakenäset IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nittorp the free kick. David Tunström kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven Rang stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nittorp's goalkeeper Carl Kollberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Richard Söderqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Melker Helander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nittorp's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfons Gadd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. In the 78thth minute of the game Ragnar Dahlberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hakenäset IFK's Melker Helander was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ragnar Dahlberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Hakenäset IFK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Nittorp:s goal. Jens-Erik Olsmann kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Hakenäset IFK's zone, Richard Söderqvist stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melker Helander came out of the goal and Richard Söderqvist tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hakenäset IFK's Sven Rang in the 98th minute got a chance for a shot 98th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nittorp's goalie prevented a goal. The Hakenäset IFK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Hakenäset IFK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
