Melker Helander came out of the goal and Henry Gustafsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hakenäset IFK's Alfons Gadd got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 7th minute Alfons Gadd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Michael Fagerberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Sven Rang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hakenäset IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åre FK the free kick. Orvar Kellbom hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Tomas Enström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Alfons Gadd came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Hakenäset IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfons Gadd couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute Henry Gustafsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Melker Helander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Michael Fagerberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sven Rang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Hakenäset IFK booed when Åre FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eddie Kinnman didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Hakenäset IFK's Adam Ivarsson tried to score from far away in the 33rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute of the match, Tomas Enström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Melker Helander was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Henry Gustafsson came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Åre FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Henry Gustafsson couldn't finish the play. Melker Helander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Gustafsson in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Fridlund in the 43rd minute of play forced Hakenäset IFK's goalkeeper Melker Helander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Alfons Gadd came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Hakenäset IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfons Gadd couldn't finish the play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 52 played minutes Åre FK got a freekick which was hit by Johan Fridlund. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Hakenäset IFK's Sven Rang in the 61st minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Michael Fagerberg was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Åre FK through an amazing save. Melker Helander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Enström in the 68th minute of play. After 69 played minutes Hakenäset IFK got a freekick which was hit by Per-Olof Olsson. In the 70th minute of the match Olof Wennerquist sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Melker Helander skillfully saved the ball. Adam Ivarsson, 73 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sven Rang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Michael Fagerberg having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Alfons Gadd got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Åre FK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Michael Fagerberg, was totally fooled by Hakenäset IFK's Adam Ivarsson, who 83 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Alfons Gadd struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Michael Fagerberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hakenäset IFK. The supporters of Hakenäset IFK booed when Åre FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Fridlund didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Sven Rang recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Michael Fagerberg. Sven Rang showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Henry Gustafsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Melker Helander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Hakenäset IFK walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
