The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Evert Säfström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roger Valström in the 3rd minute of play. Djurgårdens if's Evert Säfström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Valström in the 4th minute of play. Evert Säfström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edvin Carlsson's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. After 8 played minutes Djurgårdens if got a freekick which was hit by Casper Persson. Inge Juhlin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Jimmie Modig skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 16th minute, Manfred Skarkman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Inge Juhlin got free with Jimmie Modig in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edvin Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Säfström having to interfere. If Carl Frykberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inge Juhlin in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jimmie Modig, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carl Frykberg was the one to do the kick off. Jimmie Modig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Frykberg in the 52nd minute of the match. Roger Valström charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Roger Valström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 53 played minutes Kvänum IK got a freekick which was hit by Roger Valström. Jimmie Modig made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Inge Juhlin in the 59th minute of play. Edvin Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Säfström having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 62 minutes, Evert Säfström successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Evert Säfström made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Edvin Carlsson sent off a good shot on target. If Roger Valström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carl Frykberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 75th minute Roger Valström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evert Säfström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Inge Juhlin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 86th minute, Edvin Carlsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kvänum IK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Carl Frykberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Jimmie Modig tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Djurgårdens if supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Kvänum IK's performance. The match ended with a win for Kvänum IK.
