Henning Forsberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvar Strand in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Einar Björnberg saved Mårdaklev from getting behind. In the 33rd match minute, Gatans Lag was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivar Holm to maneuver through the defense. After 34 played minutes, Mårdaklev's Tom Björk shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Henning Forsberg came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mårdaklev reached it. If Carl Britz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Einar Björnberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mats Dahlberg in the 41st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvar Strand in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Einar Björnberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gatans Lag! Tom Björk shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Krister Vibjörnsson made a kick off. Henning Forsberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Britz, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The Mårdaklev fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gatans Lag's goalkeeper Henning Forsberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Many of Gatans Lag's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Gatans Lag may have spent more time on the ball, but Mårdaklev were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
