The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Björn Svanström kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. After 7 played minutes Vemdalen got a freekick which was hit by Ingemar Grep. Ulf Thedin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Fabian Stål tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th minute of the match Joakim Dahlberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fabian Stål skillfully saved the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pär Hellqvist in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabian Stål saved Vemdalen from getting behind. Pär Hellqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Birger Öfverman was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and Morgan Jonasson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Morgan Jonasson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. With 34 minutes on the clock, Joakim Dahlberg commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Olja fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! Birger Öfverman went to the wrong direction when Gottfrid Modig was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Magne Trillkott got free with Birger Öfverman in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Magne Trillkott could shoot a difficult shot in the 42nd minute, which Birger Öfverman however easily saved by the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After 58 minutes, Lukas Kinell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Olja and the Vemdalen players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to FC Olja getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Lukas Kinell hit a great ball. In the 60th minute Magne Trillkott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Birger Öfverman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabian Stål made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Ulf Thedin sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute, Morgan Jonasson made a precise shot to the right of Birger Öfverman. FC Olja's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Birger Öfverman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Morgan Jonasson in the 70th minute of play. 74 minutes into the game, Wictor Wallin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Olja's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vemdalen the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Magne Trillkott managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vemdalen's supporters rose to their feet, but Magne Trillkott was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Birger Öfverman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Morgan Jonasson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Öfverman having to interfere. Birger Öfverman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Morgan Jonasson in the 94th minute of play. When Ulf Thedin fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Olja's protests and gave Ulf Thedin a yellow card for diving instead. Ulf Thedin hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Hjalmar Molander's late challenge caught a FC Olja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hjalmar Molander helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Olja booed when Vemdalen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hjalmar Molander didn't get a good kick on the ball.
