Jan-Åke Askelöf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Öfverman having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in towers's zone, Ulf Thedin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olov Täman came out of the goal and Ulf Thedin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Olov Täman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pär Hellqvist in the 42nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Jan-Åke Askelöf fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored towers's protests and gave Jan-Åke Askelöf a yellow card for diving instead. After 54 played minutes towers got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Åke Askelöf. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulf Thedin got free with Olov Täman in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pär Hellqvist might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Olov Täman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pär Hellqvist ran back to his position shaking his head. Birger Öfverman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Arvidsson in the 63rd minute of play. Jan-Åke Askelöf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Birger Öfverman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pär Hellqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ulf Thedin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Olov Täman made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Arvidsson in the 82nd minute of play forced FC Olja's goalkeeper Birger Öfverman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 84th minute, one of towers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for towers. The referee gave FC Olja a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Wictor Wallin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of towers's Olov Täman. 1-3. Sten Britz's late challenge caught a FC Olja's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sten Britz helped the player get up and apologised. Sten Britz hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. In the 93rd match minute, towers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rune Grubb to maneuver through the defense. FC Olja's Wictor Wallin couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 94th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for towers. Ulf Thedin struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Olov Täman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Olja. If Jan-Åke Askelöf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Birger Öfverman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Arvidsson in the 100th minute of the match. The towers supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Olja's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Olja.
