The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Berghem fans' excitement grew in the 3rd match minute when Berghem's Freddie Larsfält looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Karl-Oskar Browall scored 0-2 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven-Åke Julin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bengt Holmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Lundblad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dag Forsberg scored 1-3 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sven-Åke Julin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Karl-Oskar Browall managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berghem's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Oskar Browall was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Åke Julin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Log IK Beavers's Sven-Åke Julin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl-Oskar Browall in the 25th minute of play. Sven-Åke Julin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dag Forsberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mattias Lundblad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mats Göransson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Holmberg having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Berghem's Dag Forsberg got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 37 minutes of play, Berghem's Freddie Larsfält made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sven-Åke Julin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 43 played minutes Berghem got a freekick which was hit by Dag Forsberg. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Berghem's zone, Mattias Lundblad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt Holmberg came out of the goal and Mattias Lundblad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Karl-Oskar Browall came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Berghem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl-Oskar Browall couldn't finish the play. If Mats Göransson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Berghem's goal looked a bit too open when Mattias Lundblad came free, but Bengt Holmberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddie Larsfält in the 64th minute of play forced Log IK Beavers's goalkeeper Sven-Åke Julin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Karl-Oskar Browall got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Log IK Beavers booed when Berghem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Edvin Söderström didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt Holmberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mattias Lundblad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sven-Åke Julin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Karl-Oskar Browall in the 70th minute. If Karl-Oskar Browall had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mats Göransson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Holmberg having to interfere. Karl-Oskar Browall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Freddie Larsfält struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Sven-Åke Julin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Berghem. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Berghem's goalkeeper Bengt Holmberg, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
