When Jörn Bergman came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the FC Smulan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jörn Bergman couldn't finish the play. Fred Holm stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Sjöman's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ejdsmaskin FF's zone, Jörgen Käcker stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Holm came out of the goal and Jörgen Käcker tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Henning Brander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Åke Lundqvist in the 15th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Sjöman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fred Holm was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 23rd minute of the match Eskil Asklöv shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fred Holm showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of FC Smulan booed when Ejdsmaskin FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bertil Bocklund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Sjöman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jörn Bergman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Holm having to interfere. If Daniel Sjöman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Ejdsmaskin FF's Urban Berglund got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Daniel Sjöman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Holm having to interfere. Eskil Asklöv, 46 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 48th minute of the match Brian Örn shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fred Holm showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Karl-Åke Lundqvist was the one to do the kick off. Fred Holm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Sjöman in the 53rd minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, FC Smulan's Jörgen Käcker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Holm narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FC Smulan's Eskil Asklöv got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Daniel Sjöman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Fred Holm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brian Örn made in the 66th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Daniel Sjöman. Daniel Sjöman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 70 minutes into the game, Daniel Sjöman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Smulan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ejdsmaskin FF the free kick. In the 70th match minute, FC Smulan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Sjöman to maneuver through the defense. Ingmar Lundgren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Fred Holm tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fred Holm didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Sjöman went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Daniel Sjöman kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Daniel Sjöman's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fred Holm was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. In the 85th minute, Daniel Sjöman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Ejdsmaskin FF's goal looked a bit too open when Jörgen Käcker came free, but Fred Holm reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Daniel Sjöman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Sjöman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Holm having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Eskil Asklöv took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Fred Holm to make any attempt to save it. FC Smulan's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
