To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Tropico booed when Gefle FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rickard Bergqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herbert Lidström hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. When Ingvar Sigfridsson came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Gefle FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingvar Sigfridsson couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute Zebastian Ahlfors shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Harlén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zebastian Ahlfors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tropico's Emil Harlén proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 49th minute of the match, managed to save Tropico from getting a goal against them. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zebastian Ahlfors stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joseph Andreasson's late challenge caught a Tropico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joseph Andreasson helped the player get up and apologised. Emil Harlén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Sigfridsson in the 102nd minute of play.
