With his leg Linus Söderberg managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Älvängen's Axel Wennersten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Wennersten got free with Linus Söderberg in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frans Brenner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Törnqvist having to interfere. Christian Törnqvist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frans Brenner's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Linus Söderberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stellan Klack, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Stellan Klack made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Hållsta FK's goal looked a bit too open when Urban Bergman came free, but Linus Söderberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Älvängen's zone, Frans Brenner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christian Törnqvist came out of the goal and Frans Brenner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hållsta FK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
