With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jens-Ola Lindsten prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jan-Erik Hedling's late challenge caught a FC Madrid's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jens-Ola Lindsten made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjell Larsfält in the 91st minute of play. 95 minutes into the match, FC Madrid's Kjell Larsfält sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jens-Ola Lindsten narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee ended the match the FC Madrid players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
