The supporters of Y.N.W.A. booed when Oviken was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolf Odin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 played minutes, Y.N.W.A.'s Jens Holmberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Kent Björling came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Y.N.W.A. reached it.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Karl-Axel Lidström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Jens Enström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl-Axel Lidström in the 52nd minute of play. Sven-Oskar Joensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Kent Björling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olov Söderström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kent Björling read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. When Hubert Vestlund fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oviken's protests and gave Hubert Vestlund a yellow card for diving instead. In the 64th minute, Hubert Vestlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Oskar Joensson got free with Kent Björling in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oviken's Kent Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olov Söderström in the 85th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl-Axel Lidström in the 90th minute of play forced Y.N.W.A.'s goalkeeper Jens Enström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Y.N.W.A.'s Stig Lindström got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 95th minute, Gösta Finsberg made a precise shot to the right of Jens Enström. Y.N.W.A.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
