To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bror Bank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Ivar Borre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Torsten Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nykvarn BF's supporters rose to their feet, but Torsten Cane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Örjan Ålberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 18 minutes, Torsten Cane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nykvarn BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torsten Cane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Torsten Cane sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rudolf Ståhlman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nykvarn BF's Ivar Borre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Åke Fransson in the 40th minute of play. Köpingsvik IFK's Rudolf Bäcklin got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rudolf Ståhlman got free with Örjan Ålberg in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute Torsten Cane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Örjan Ålberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Torsten Cane stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Nykvarn BF booed when Köpingsvik IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Olof Häger didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Nykvarn BF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Köpingsvik IFK's performance. The match ended with a win for Köpingsvik IFK.
