The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stig Billvall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Jakobsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Robert Jakobsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Jesper Söderberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anders Berglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Tomasson having to interfere. Karl-Michael Bäckström, 35 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Karlskoga BF's zone, Jan Odin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stig Billvall came out of the goal and Jan Odin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 42 minutes into the match, Karlskoga BF's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Jakobsson came free, but Stig Billvall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christer Tomasson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesper Söderberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anders Berglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robert Jakobsson made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anders Berglund got free with Christer Tomasson in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stig Billvall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Odin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Jan Odin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tyson Army fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Daniel Lundgren hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Christer Tomasson made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Anders Berglund sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Jesper Söderberg kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christer Tomasson. That made the score 1-1 in the 69 minute of play. 75 minutes into the game, Tyson Army's Jan Odin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stig Billvall made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Gottfrid Olofsson hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Jan Odin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stig Billvall. Karlskoga BF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jan Odin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1.
