Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Juventus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Inge Arvidsson came free, but Olle Holmgren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lennart Kinell hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lars Beckman made a kick off. The supporters of Juventus FC booed when IFK Malmö was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johannes Linqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inge Arvidsson couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Lars Beckman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juventus FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lars Beckman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mats Asmundsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mats Asmundsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Beckman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the IFK Malmö players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
