The audience thought a goal was coming when Konrad Lundström got free with Bengt-Rune Rydberg in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute, Ralf Biörkman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bengt-Rune Rydberg, passed just outside the right post. 19 minutes into the match, The 420 Society's goalkeeper Bengt-Rune Rydberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Konrad Lundström. When Ragnar Wenerdahl fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The 420 Society's protests and gave Ragnar Wenerdahl a yellow card for diving instead. Slite's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The 420 Society the free kick. If Rune Linqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Konrad Lundström blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bengt-Rune Rydberg having to make a save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jerry Haraldsson to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Konrad Lundström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joakim Ahlrot kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Ralf Biörkman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt-Rune Rydberg having to interfere. Rune Linqvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 87 minutes, Konrad Lundström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Slite's supporters crossed their fingers, but Konrad Lundström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute, Ralf Biörkman made a precise shot to the right of Bengt-Rune Rydberg. The 420 Society's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Slite's zone, Jerry Haraldsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Göran Örtlund came out of the goal and Jerry Haraldsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rune Linqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Göran Örtlund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
