Thor Sävström might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joachim Frisck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Thor Sävström ran back to his position shaking his head. Claes Bergvall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per Bergfelt in the 9th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Norrby IFK's goalkeeper Claes Bergvall had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stig-Åke Broberg. When Per Bergfelt came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Mellösa IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Per Bergfelt couldn't finish the play. 27 minutes into the match, Norrby IFK's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Lundin came free, but Claes Bergvall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mellösa IFK booed when Norrby IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Erik Nilsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joachim Frisck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thor Sävström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig-Åke Broberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Claes Bergvall made a huge save. After having played for 36 minutes, Thor Sävström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norrby IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thor Sävström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thor Sävström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Frisck having to interfere. Thor Sävström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Joachim Frisck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

62 minutes into the match, Per Bergfelt notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Norrby IFK's Claes Bergvall. Claes Bergvall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 2-0 became the score in the 66th minute when Stig-Åke Broberg elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Per Bergfelt scored 3-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claes Bergvall, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joachim Frisck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oskar Månsson's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Kasper Bure's late challenge caught a Norrby IFK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kasper Bure helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Norrby IFK booed when Mellösa IFK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kasper Bure didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joachim Frisck was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Bertil Lennartsson. Mellösa IFK's Per Bergfelt pulled a muscle in his back after 82 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Joar Broberg charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joar Broberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 82nd minute of the game. One of Norrby IFK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mellösa IFK:s goal. In the 87th minute, Marc Åkesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norrby IFK's Oskar Månsson got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joachim Frisck was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Oskar Månsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 91 minute of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Thor Sävström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Norrby IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thor Sävström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Norrby IFK's zone, Sven Lundin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claes Bergvall came out of the goal and Sven Lundin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mellösa IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Norrby IFK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
