The audience thought a goal was coming when Eric Hellström got free with Örjan Nordström in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 25th minute, Thor Fastesson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute, Olof Bammerman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Örjan Nordström was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Samuel Fanström capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Samuel Fanström really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olof Bammerman in the 44th minute of play forced Skellefteå FF's goalkeeper Christer Wennerqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Fanström's late challenge caught a Vasastan BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Samuel Fanström helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Skellefteå FF's Samuel Fanström got a free kick in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Peder Askestät made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, Skellefteå FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malte Lindgren to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the game, Peder Askestät recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Christer Wennerqvist. Peder Askestät showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. Olof Bammerman let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 57th minute shot 2-2 at rihgt post. Christer Wennerqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peder Askestät, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Peder Askestät sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Olof Bammerman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Christer Wennerqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Örjan Nordström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Fanström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eric Hellström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Örjan Nordström having to interfere. Christer Wennerqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peder Askestät in the 76th minute of the match. After having played for 79 minutes, Peder Askestät managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vasastan BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Peder Askestät was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Skellefteå FF's Samuel Fanström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Örjan Nordström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Peder Askestät struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Christer Wennerqvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vasastan BK. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Eric Hellström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skellefteå FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Eric Hellström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Örjan Nordström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Vasastan BK's zone, Samuel Fanström stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Örjan Nordström came out of the goal and Samuel Fanström tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
