Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jens-Åke Säf got the match started through his kick off. Hubert Johnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thor Fastesson in the 3rd minute of play. Verner Bogren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Hubert Johnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peder Askestät scored 0-1 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hubert Johnsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vasastan BK's Örjan Nordström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Vasastan BK from getting a goal against them. Jens-Åke Säf received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Örjan Nordström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Vasastan BK's Peder Askestät in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vetlanda's goalie prevented a goal. In the 22nd minute, Peder Askestät got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 23 minutes into the game, Samuel Smedfeldt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vetlanda's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vasastan BK the free kick. In the 23rd match minute, Vetlanda was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Smedfeldt to maneuver through the defense. Hubert Johnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Peder Askestät, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 28 played minutes Vetlanda got a freekick which was hit by Stig Palmkvist. Peder Askestät received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Hubert Johnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Olof Bammerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peder Askestät to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Vetlanda booed when Vasastan BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tord Wallin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Olof Bammerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hubert Johnsson having to interfere. Jens-Åke Säf blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Örjan Nordström having to make a save. If Otto Widberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 72nd minute, Otto Widberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Vasastan BK's goal looked a bit too open when Jens-Åke Säf came free, but Örjan Nordström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peder Askestät received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Hubert Johnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Otto Widberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 94th minute, Jens-Åke Säf got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vasastan BK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
