Bengt-Arne Jakobsson kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. When Vetlanda's Jens-Åke Säf in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Skellefteå FF's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Jens-Åke Säf sped through Skellefteå FF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christer Wennerqvist. After 12 minutes of play, Vetlanda's Otto Widberg made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Christer Wennerqvist was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vidar Öberg charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vidar Öberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Skellefteå FF's Vidar Öberg got a free kick in the 15th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Otto Widberg got free with Christer Wennerqvist in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Vetlanda booed when Skellefteå FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Östen Albom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vetlanda's Hubert Johnsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Fanström in the 24th minute of play. Eric Hellström's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hubert Johnsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Hubert Johnsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Samuel Fanström's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Christer Wennerqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otto Widberg in the 46th minute. Christer Wennerqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Åke Säf, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Jens-Åke Säf made the kick off in the second half. Otto Widberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Wennerqvist having to interfere. Eric Hellström struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Hubert Johnsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Skellefteå FF. Otto Widberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christer Wennerqvist having to interfere. After 72 played minutes Skellefteå FF got a freekick which was hit by Vidar Öberg. Hubert Johnsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Fanström in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Eric Hellström got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
