The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With an all-out effort, Simlångsdalen's Leif Bolin threw himself towards the right post 4 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Sven Gustavsson, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 5 minutes into the game, Simlångsdalen's Malte Kämpe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leif Bolin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. A collision led to Mattisborgen BK getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Jan-Åke Duset hit a great ball. Malte Kämpe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Bolin having to interfere. Leif Bolin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Malte Kämpe in the 13th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Malte Kämpe got free with Leif Bolin in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sven Gustavsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Leif Bolin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Roger Friberger struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Stig-Ove Wester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mattisborgen BK. If Roger Friberger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, Sven Gustavsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Leif Bolin, 2-0. Sven Gustavsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Bolin having to interfere. If Sven Gustavsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 40 minutes into the match, Malte Kämpe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leif Bolin. Mattisborgen BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Malte Kämpe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Roger Friberger kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Leif Bolin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 45th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Inge Forssell. Leif Bolin made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Malte Kämpe sent off a good shot on target. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jan-Åke Duset was the one to do the kick off. Jan-Åke Duset's late challenge caught a Simlångsdalen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan-Åke Duset helped the player get up and apologised. In the 53rd minute, Jan-Åke Duset hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Malte Kämpe took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leif Bolin. Leif Bolin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Leif Bolin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sven Gustavsson in the 63rd minute of play. The supporters of Simlångsdalen booed when Mattisborgen BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Friberger didn't get a good kick on the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Mattisborgen BK's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Gustavsson came free, but Leif Bolin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 68 minutes, Jan-Åke Duset managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mattisborgen BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Åke Duset was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roger Friberger didn't quite understand what happened when in the 73 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. A collision led to Mattisborgen BK getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Roger Friberger hit a great ball. After 77 played minutes Mattisborgen BK got a freekick which was hit by Jan-Åke Duset. 79 minutes into the match, Mattisborgen BK's goal looked a bit too open when Sven Gustavsson came free, but Leif Bolin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leif Bolin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Malte Kämpe in the 80th minute of the match. Jan-Åke Duset hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Sven Gustavsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven Gustavsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Leif Bolin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Malte Kämpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven Gustavsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leif Bolin having to interfere. Simlångsdalen were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mattisborgen BK for a fine match.
