Tived's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mattan United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Tived's Dan Siöman got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 39th minute of the match Örjan Gulliksson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rickard Arenius showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Mattan United booed when Tived was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sven-Ove Falkrantz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Egon Samuelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match.

Billy Sjödin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Billy Sjödin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tived's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Sjödin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Conny Broberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lars-Erik Berggren received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rickard Arenius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Sjödin in the 91st minute of play forced Mattan United's goalkeeper Conny Broberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute, Hans Strömberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Billy Sjödin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mattan United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
