With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gunnar Käcker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Söder Bröder booed when Sockerbagarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egon Bålström didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Ekgren in the 11th minute of play forced Sockerbagarna's goalkeeper Gunnar Käcker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Söder Bröder's goalkeeper Jimmy Ferm had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joakim Haglund. Joakim Haglund sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 16 played minutes Söder Bröder got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Ekeberg. In the 21stth minute of the game Göran Lundqvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sockerbagarna's Gunnar Käcker was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter Ekgren in the 23rd minute of play forced Sockerbagarna's goalkeeper Gunnar Käcker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Sockerbagarna's Klas Bäckström got a free kick in the 24th minute. Joakim Haglund recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gunnar Käcker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Göran Lundqvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 45 played minutes, Söder Bröder's Torgny Helander shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gunnar Käcker came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Söder Bröder reached it. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Gunnar Käcker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Ekgren in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Söder Bröder's zone, Joakim Haglund stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jimmy Ferm came out of the goal and Joakim Haglund tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Peter Ekgren reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gunnar Käcker. The goal made the score 0-1. Göran Lundqvists short, quick shot in the 66thth minute got Gunnar Käcker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Klas Bäckström hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Gunnar Käcker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Ekgren in the 74th minute of play. Egon Bålström kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Gunnar Käcker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Ekgren in the 77th minute of play. Peter Ekgren received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gunnar Käcker came out and tried to block the shot, but Peter Ekgren slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 82nd minute. Sockerbagarna's Klas Bäckström got his second yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute. The referee ordered Klas Bäckström off the ground. After 93 played minutes Sockerbagarna got a freekick which was hit by Klas Bäckström. Göran Lundqvist took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gunnar Käcker. Gunnar Käcker dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3.
