With a little luck, Skillingaryd's Jan-Erik Holmgren got control of the ball when Emil Soned tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute Lennart Lindholm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Hamberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Mats Malmström recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jan-Erik Holmgren. Mats Malmström showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 30th match minute, Skillingaryd was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Larsfelt to maneuver through the defense. Överlida RK's Kevin Björklund shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jan-Erik Holmgren but with some difficulty. Mats Malmström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th minute, Emil Soned ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan-Erik Holmgren was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Mats Malmström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jan-Erik Holmgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Soned in the 58th minute of the match. William Hamberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustav Erserman in the 67th minute. Mats Malmström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Erik Holmgren having to interfere. Lennart Lindholm received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. William Hamberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Lennart Lindholm slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mats Malmström in the 79th minute of play forced Skillingaryd's goalkeeper Jan-Erik Holmgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emil Soned's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jan-Erik Holmgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. Mats Malmström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan-Erik Holmgren having to interfere. In the 95th minute, Bernt Kielstedt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan-Erik Holmgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mats Malmström in the 98th minute of play. There was no doubt that Överlida RK were the better team. Överlida RK's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
