When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Herman Kvick put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Per-Erik Ekberg. Edwin Dahlberg hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Herman Kvicks short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Per-Erik Ekberg to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Herman Kvick who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Per-Erik Ekberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 17 minutes into the game, Stars Shining's Petter Grönlund nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valter Fors made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Gråberg in the 20th minute of play forced Malmö FF's goalkeeper Valter Fors to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Malmö FF's Joakim Göransson got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Malmö FF booed when Stars Shining was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Dalkvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Hjalmar Åberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Malmö FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hjalmar Åberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Malcolm Ånger was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Stars Shining's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malmö FF the free kick. After 27 played minutes Stars Shining got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Ånger. Leif Finsberg received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Per-Erik Ekberg came out and tried to block the shot, but Leif Finsberg slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 31st minute. After 35 minutes, Herman Kvick made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Stars Shining's Per-Erik Ekberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Malmö FF's Herman Kvick got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per-Erik Ekberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herman Kvick's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Leif Finsberg recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rolf Viberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Per-Erik Ekberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petter Grönlund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Malmö FF's Herman Kvick nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After some careless play in the Stars Shining defense, Herman Kvick kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Per-Erik Ekberg. The Stars Shining fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Per-Erik Ekberg should have stopped the shot. Herman Kvick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexander Östman during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Herman Kvick struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Per-Erik Ekberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malmö FF. Leif Finsberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Per-Erik Ekberg came out of the goal and Herman Kvick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 83 minutes, Börge Vallin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stars Shining and the Malmö FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Börge Vallin hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Malmö FF's Hjalmar Åberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rolf Viberg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Erik Ekberg having to interfere. Joakim Göransson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Erik Ekberg having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Herman Kvick's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per-Erik Ekberg was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Herman Kvick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Malmö FF players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
