Samuel Almqvist was out of position in the 12 minute of play, and Jarl Jonsson capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jarl Jonsson really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 16th minute, Simon Björkman had to leave the field with a concussion. Eric Asklund's late challenge caught a Diö BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Asklund helped the player get up and apologised. After 17 played minutes Båstad IK got a freekick which was hit by Eric Asklund. If Douglas Strömqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Douglas Strömqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Åke Stenström having to interfere. 22 minutes into the game, Andy Carlsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Båstad IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Diö BK the free kick. In the 22nd match minute, Båstad IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Carlsson to maneuver through the defense. Douglas Strömqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Karl-Åke Stenström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bengt-Rune Gallberg hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Jarl Jonsson came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Båstad IK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jarl Jonsson couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Diö BK's Robin Lundqvist got a free kick in the 34th minute. Samuel Almqvist made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Dag Stenström sent off a good shot on target. Dag Stenström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Samuel Almqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dag Stenström, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 58thth minute of the game Jarl Jonsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Diö BK's Samuel Almqvist was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 61st minute, Robin Brask fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the Diö BK defense, Jarl Jonsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Samuel Almqvist. The Diö BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Samuel Almqvist should have stopped the shot. Samuel Almqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dag Stenström, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Karl-Åke Stenström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Douglas Strömqvist in the 75th minute. After having played for 79 minutes, Douglas Strömqvist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diö BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Douglas Strömqvist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In a very dangerous position, a player in Diö BK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 88th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Båstad IK a penalty, 89 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Börje Hedin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Diö BK's Samuel Almqvist. 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarl Jonsson in the 93rd minute of play forced Diö BK's goalkeeper Samuel Almqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
