Spectators: 6676 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1676, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Marcus Mickelsson took the kick off in the first half of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Magne Bergqvist during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Magne Bergqvist hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. If Bernt Zander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diö's Eskil Lindgren got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eskil Lindgren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcus Mickelsson in the 23rd minute of play forced Diö's goalkeeper Robert Lundberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diö's Robert Lundberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernt Zander in the 29th minute of play. Olov Wiman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pär Alefors, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute, Pär Alefors reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Olov Wiman. The goal made the score 1-1. When Bernt Zander came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Martins Dunderpatrull fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernt Zander couldn't finish the play. Erland Aronsson hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Diö's Robert Lundberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Mickelsson in the 45th minute of play. Eskil Lindgren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Olov Wiman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pär Alefors to make the kick off. After 54 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Diö! Diö's Pär Alefors got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pär Alefors in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Olov Wiman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 77 minutes, Eskil Lindgren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Diö's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eskil Lindgren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Pär Alefors had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Marcus Mickelsson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post.
