If Börje Rosendal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. George Kvick recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Sköldinge IK getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Kjell Stål hit a great ball. In the 13th minute of the match Gilbert Kuse shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kåre Trillkott showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sköldinge IK were furious when Karl-Michael Stigsson was red carded, 15 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Sköldinge IK fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 14th minute. Penalty! In the 17th minute there was a penalty for Utö IFK. Harry Norström stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kåre Trillkott. 0-1. 21 minutes into the game, Sivert Johnsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sköldinge IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Utö IFK the free kick. A collision led to Sköldinge IK getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Sivert Johnsson hit a great ball. When Olov Persson came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Utö IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olov Persson couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Sköldinge IK getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Jonny Billock hit a great ball. In the 30th minute, Philip Gustavsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 31 minutes, Olov Persson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Utö IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Olov Persson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Sköldinge IK's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Persson came free, but Kåre Trillkott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Sköldinge IK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Utö IFK were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Börje Rosendal made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Olov Persson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Utö IFK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. George Kvick sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sköldinge IK's Börje Rosendal got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Philip Gustavsson, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 80 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Kåre Trillkott was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Sköldinge IK's Kåre Trillkott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Sköldinge IK from getting a goal against them. When George Kvick fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Utö IFK's protests and gave George Kvick a yellow card for diving instead. After 96 played minutes Utö IFK got a freekick which was hit by George Kvick. Utö IFK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
