The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilbert Enegren got free with Jörgen Ålberg in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimmie Kaxe in the 18th minute of play forced Spurs IF's goalkeeper Jörgen Ålberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mats Stålman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Erik Hägglund, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. If Gilbert Enegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 34th minute, Esbjörn Sandberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Spurs IF's Sven-Erik Hägglund got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilbert Enegren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esbjörn Sandberg hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute of the match Vinterhagens IF got a corner. Spurs IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jens-Erik Jespersson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Vinterhagens IF's Jens-Erik Jespersson was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jörgen Ålberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jimmie Kaxe to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Vinterhagens IF's Jimmie Kaxe got a free kick in the 58th minute. If Gilbert Enegren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Erik Hägglund fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mats Stålman having to interfere. Sven-Erik Hägglund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Mats Stålman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thomas Bredberg struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Mats Stålman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Spurs IF. The Vinterhagens IF supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Spurs IF's performance. The match ended with a win for Spurs IF.
