When Jens-Ove Linqvist came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Adak fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jens-Ove Linqvist couldn't finish the play. When Charles Ström fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Katrineholms SK's protests and gave Charles Ström a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Adak booed when Katrineholms SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Charles Ström didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tommy Lindkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sune Lundin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Lindkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stig-Åke Sjö received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Einar Lilja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Stig-Åke Sjö made a precise shot to the right of Einar Lilja. Adak's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. After 27 played minutes Katrineholms SK got a freekick which was hit by Allan Trulsson. The audience thought a goal was coming when Stig-Åke Mickelsson got free with Einar Lilja in the 35th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Adak's Tommy Lindkvist got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jens-Ove Linqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sune Lundin having to interfere. Katrineholms SK's Sune Lundin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Ove Linqvist in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Stig-Åke Sjö fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Einar Lilja having to interfere. Katrineholms SK's Sune Lundin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Katrineholms SK from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Tommy Lindkvist kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sune Lundin. That made the score 1-1 in the 75 minute of play. In the 80th minute Stig-Åke Mickelsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Einar Lilja saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Einar Lilja took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stig-Åke Sjö, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Adak players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Katrineholms SK from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
