The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rikard Nordin during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 15 played minutes Finspång IFK got a freekick which was hit by Rikard Nordin. Per-Åke Göransson struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Axel Vennerström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Finspång IFK. If Nils-Emil Kinnman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute of the match Karl-Åke Bennet shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Axel Vennerström showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Axel Vennerström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Åke Göransson in the 42nd minute of the match. Axel Vennerström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Per-Åke Göransson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oskar Lidman was the one to do the kick off. Sven-Oskar Svensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustaf Hägert having to interfere. Gustaf Hägert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oskar Lidman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Per-Åke Göransson might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Axel Vennerström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per-Åke Göransson ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Vrena FF getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Jonathan Nordgren hit a great ball. When Finspång IFK's Nils-Emil Kinnman in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The Vrena FF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Axel Vennerström should have stopped the shot.
